Senna Mauto Museum and Driving Vintage

Museo Mauto Senna e Driving vintage

The visit to the National Automobile Museum of Turin (MAUTO) dedicated to the legendary driver Ayrton Senna was an exciting and immersive experience for Formula 1 and automotive enthusiasts. This celebratory exhibition offered a journey through the career and life of one of the most iconic and beloved drivers in motorsport history.

Inside the exhibition, visitors could admire some of the most representative cars that Senna raced and won with in Formula 1. Among the cars on display stood out the iconic McLaren-Hondas with which the Brazilian driver won three world titles, along with a selection of suits, helmets, and memorabilia that recounted his rise to the top of motorsport.

Every section of the exhibition was accompanied by multimedia materials, with videos documenting the highlights of Senna's career, from his first victories to the tragic accident at Imola in 1994. Interviews, footage of his most spectacular races, and comments from journalists and other drivers offered a complete picture of his extraordinary skill on the track, his commitment to perfection, and his charismatic and humanitarian personality off the track.

Another highlight of the visit was the possibility of experiencing an interactive experience, such as driving simulations that allowed visitors to experience firsthand the sensation of driving a Formula 1 single-seater, ideally measuring themselves against Senna's extraordinary driving skills.

The exhibition was not limited only to sporting aspects but also explored the figure of Ayrton Senna as a man, highlighting his commitment to social causes through his foundation, the Instituto Ayrton Senna, which continues to support educational projects for disadvantaged children in Brazil.

The visit to MAUTO dedicated to Senna allowed for a touching and educational experience, paying tribute to one of the greatest champions ever, whose legacy continues to inspire drivers and enthusiasts all over the world.

In the afternoon, at the end of our visit to the National Automobile Museum of Turin (MAUTO), we had the opportunity to participate in the Driving Vintage event, organized by an association that deals with vintage car rentals. Thanks to this initiative, we immersed ourselves in the emotion of driving some of the most iconic cars of Italian motoring, traveling the streets of Turin on board authentic masterpieces on four wheels. From the first moment, the atmosphere was exciting: we were faced with an exceptional selection of vintage cars, all perfectly preserved. Among the available models, the legendary FIAT 500, symbol of the Italian economic boom, the grintosa Alfetta, the elegant Fiat 124, and the majestic Fiat 1300, emblem of solidity, stood out. Making everything even more fascinating was the iconic Alfa Spider, which immediately recalls the image of the Italian streets of the 60s with its elegant and sporty design. Each participant had the possibility to get behind the wheel and experience the charm of these timeless cars, with their vintage mechanics that offer driving sensations very different from modern vehicles. Traveling the historic and picturesque streets of Turin made the experience even more suggestive, mixing automotive heritage with the city's rich architectural heritage. The members of Driving Vintage accompanied us along the way, telling us curiosities and technical details about each car, further enriching our experience. It was a true journey into the past, which made us understand how much these cars influenced not only the motor world but also Italian culture and lifestyle. In short, participating in Driving Vintage made the day at MAUTO truly unforgettable. Driving these vintage cars, full of charm and history, was a journey through time that we will always carry with us.
